The vet nurses:

Each senior nurse at Fox Valley Animal Hospital has completed the Certificate II in Animal Studies and the Certificate IV in Animal Nursing. This includes an 8 hour a week practical training regime together with full program of study at TAFE. A happy and positive workplace means many of the senior nurses have almost a decade worth of experience behind them, and each has a minimum of four years dedicated service a vet nurse.

Junior Vet Nurses are applying the skills they are currently learning at TAFE to the working day. Each junior nurse is constantly learning from the senior nurses, and Vet’s Alex and Katie. This is an animal hospital where quality care counts, so Vet Alex makes it his personal mission to ensure each member of his staff gains skills and knowledge that not only helps them perform their duties, but also encourages curiosity and solution-orientated thinking.

Learning is such an important part of Fox Valley Animal Hospital that all the staff participates in continuous learning. The vet nurses actively seek out ways to enhance their knowledge via the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia, and by attending classes and seminars on puppy school education, advanced anaesthesia, wound management, and emergency and critical care. Being surrounded by the beautiful bush of northern Sydney, the vet nurses and the vets also have extensive training and experience with native animals and wildlife care. The nurses also make sure they are up to date with the latest medicines, drugs and nutritional offerings through research and education.

Grooming services:

Upper North Shore vet clinic Fox Valley Animal Hospital approaches animal health and wellness from a full spectrum approach. That’s why we offer dog grooming and de-shedding at the Pooch Parlour. 

We also offer a cat adoption service  for many residents in the Wahroonga, Turramurra, Normanhurst, Thornleigh and Westleigh areas.
