Doctor Katie Syms
Katie was a keen lover of animals from an early age. Being a vet is what a young Katie dreamt of. This inspired her to study hard at school which has turned into a passionate love affair with acquiring knowledge. Katie has taken this zest and zeal for education to new heights as a veterinarian.
Time spent with the books, at seminars and learning has made Katie the vet she is today. Katie especially loves cracking internal medicine cases, where her diagnostic skills and love of preventative animal health come together. Katie really enjoys looking after small animals and is known as the resident detective when it comes to challenging skin cases and dermatology treatments. If your favourite furry friend has an itch, Katie is bound to find a way to scratch it!
Life as a vet is something Katie adores. So much so, she’s a member of the Centre of Veterinary Education and regularly attends continuing education classes.
When Katie isn’t putting her animal health skills to good use at Fox Valley Animal Hospital, she’s providing a home away from home for cats at her Puss ‘n’ Boots Cattery. She’s also a busy mum to two adorable children, loves photography, and works on her own fitness and wellness by playing competition tennis.
Katie has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (HONS) and is a member of the Centre of Veterinary Education.
