Products targeting pet anxiety
To help you existing pets with issues such as separation anxiety, travel related stress and compulsive behaviours linked to discomfort in your pet, our Wahroonga vet clinic is stocking anxiety relief products.
Adaptil for dogs
If you have a dog that struggles with anxiety, nervousness and especially with your absence from the home during the workday, Adaptil for dogs can help.
Adaptil mimics the pheromones released by the mother to pup. This creates a sense of calm and aids in stress reduction. It helps your puppy or dog feel calm, secure and reassured during situations that might otherwise create stress, anxiety and uncertainty.
You can use the diffuser to make the home environment feel calm and safe. This is ideal for your dog when they are placed in a new environment, such as moving to a new house. Or if they are prone to separation anxiety.
Adaptil is also available in collar form. This form is with your dog any time they are wearing their collar. This is ideal for situations where your dog may be exposed to unfamiliar situations or if they find the outside world stressful.
You should speak to our vets and vet nurses to find out if Adaptil is the right treatment for you.
Feliway for Cats
Feliway for cats helps cats with anxiety, anxious moments and stressful situations. It can be used with cats that have an anxious nature as well as a support during situations cats commonly find stressful.
For example, if you find your cat scratches excessively or in undesirable places throughout the home, you can always provide extra support and security for your favourite feline with a FELIWAY Diffuser. Working to reduce stress and reassure your cat with reassuring messages, the diffuser adds extra environmental comfort to calm your cat and reduce any stress-related scratching.
You can also use Feliway in anticipation of stressful situations your cat may face. For example, if you need to transport a cat that is not fond of transport and/or being placed in a cat carrier, applying FELIWAY Spray to the cat carrier approximately 15 minutes before introducing the cat to the carrier can reduce their stress and anxiety. 1 spray should be administered to each of the 4 corners, 2 sprays to the floor and 2 sprays to the top or ceiling of the carrier or cabin.
The Feliway spray will help provide a calmer experience when transporting your cat.
By using Feliway for Cats, you can reduce the impact of stressful situations on a regular or temporary basis.
Next time you visit our Wahroonga vet clinic, chat to one of our friendly vet nurses about Feliway for Cats.
Lots of cat re-homing
As well as our commitment to starting puppies off on the right paw with our Wahroonga puppy preschool, we also help kittens. Our kitten re-homing program aims to give new kittens the best start in life through proper veterinary healthcare, a whole lot of cuddles and the chance to meet their new furrever family.
We work with you to choose not only the right rescue kitten for your family, but to also support you in those crucial early stages of life. We do this with a mix of advice, cat toys for enrichment and support, access to proper food and vital nutrition, as well as health checks, immunisation, de-sexing and more.
If you are looking for a new kitten to complete your family, why not check out our Facebook page? We also welcome visitors to meet the new kittens at our Wahroonga vet clinic.
